The Answer

If you missed it, here is the original post, “A Psychological Exercise,” so go ahead and check it out. We’ll wait here.

The Answer

Oh, you’re back?

The Answer

Okay, so a couple of you thought it was unusual because the paragraph was centered on the page:

The Answer

I only did that, because when I formatted the post prior to publishing, it just looked better that way.

The Answer

A few more of you thought you saw an apostrophe out of place, but…

The Answer

That wasn’t it either.

The Answer

So sorry. Not sorry.

The Answer

Are you ready for the answer?

The Answer

The letter ‘e’ is missing from the entire paragraph. The letter ‘e’ is the most frequent letter in the English language. A long passage, without any use of the letter ‘e’ (as the example above), is highly unusual. This exercise demonstrates the difficulty of searching for something that is not there.

The Answer

So, there you have it.
