Wordless Wednesday #6

It’s Wordless Wednesday again!

This spider comes around every Spring and sticks around throughout the Summer. I have no idea what kind of spider it is, so if you know, well…maybe let me know? In the second picture, you can see the zig zag-type web it weaves. This eight-legged source of extreme fright is actually kind of shy. I had to use the zoom lens on the camera to get close enough, because when I tried to just get the camera close enough without using the zoom lens, he or she tried to run away. So did I when the spider moved, but the shit it my pants kept me frozen out of fear of the shit running down my leg and into my shoes. Messy. Of course, it would have been worse if the spider actually came after me, then I would have left a trail of shit in my wake.

I’ve tried to get close up shot of spiders but I’ve always used the zoom as I’m a chicken :) Great shots!

      I’m a chicken too! Thanks!

    • GKAdams

Thanks! I don’t get too close to anything creepy.

Those are two great shots! Love all the detail you can see. And yes, I’d be s!@#$ing in my pants too if a spider came after me. We don’t kill anything in our house, so we’ll (my husband) will run around like idiots trying to capture it and throw it over the neighbours wall. Hehehe.

I don’t kill anything either, but I have no problem scooting them out of the door and (harshly) telling them to never come back again. It never works.

    • GKAdams

I don’t kill anything either. I just escort them to the door and kindly ask them not to return.

You are braver then me and there is no way I would have gotten near that spider for a photo op!!

    • http://www.funnylifestories.com GK Adams

Trust me, I was very nervous and almost dropped the camera from shaking so much.

    • GKAdams

      I used a zoom lens.

Whoa, that web is pretty cool. I never knew they could do that.

    • http://www.funnylifestories.com GK Adams

I thought it was unique too. I had never seen a spider web like that before.

    • GKAdams

They’re pretty awesome to see! I had never seen a web like that before until this spider came along.

  • Cyndi

Cool, but um… now I have the creepy crawlies. Hehe. Spiders and I, well, man…I just can’t deal. :D

    • http://www.funnylifestories.com GK Adams

I can’t either. If it has more legs than I do and it’s not a dog or cat or some other friendly furry creature, then yeah, I have a problem.

    • GKAdams

Me neither. Those people that have spiders as pets, ummmm…yeah…no thanks!

I’m not scared of spiders, but I shit myself anyway when I read this post just to make you feel better. Now I’ve got a mess on my hands (literally), but hey, what are friends for?

    Great shots!

    • GKAdams

      Thanks for having my back!

I have a huge spider that hangs out outside of my office window during the summer. I call her my assistant. I figure she’s keeping flies and other bugs away. As long as she stays outside, we’re good!

    • GKAdams

HAHA! Do you have it written into a contract?

  • tamgraver

A little creepy, but excellent pics nonetheless.

    • GKAdams

      Thanks!

Oh, how pretty! I’m scared of spiders and these pics were pretty. I love your humor too! Heehee!

    • GKAdams

Thanks Lisa! Glad you stopped by for a refreshing look at 8-legged creatures.

  • Stacy Harris

Oh no… I can’t handle spiders… glad it is by you and not by me! :)

    • GKAdams

Yeah, I’m not a fan of spiders.

  • http://twitter.com/OhBoy_Mom Emily Cappo

That is a really cool photo, but spiders like that also freak me out and I feel kind of nauseous looking at this. Still, I’d say it was worth you shitting your pants. :)

    • GKAdams

I don’t know about that…it can get rather squishy.

  • Phil Holtberg

Great photos. Nothing to be afraid of – unless he’s a jumper!

Even dead spiders give me the willie’s

  • William Kendall

The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout….

    • GKAdams

…down came the rain and washed away the poop that collected in my shoes.
