What I Think of Social Media

Here’s what I think of social media:

There are some days that I just don’t care:

When I post something on my Facebook fan page and never, ever once get a reaction:

And then I think:

People always say that if you follow them on Twitter, they will follow you back. Then, they think they’re being clever and after you follow them, they unfollow you:

I mean what I say: unfollow me, and I’ll unfollow you. That shit in yo bag o’tricks, don’t work on me suckas! By the way, you can follow me @GKAdams and I will follow you back, until you stop following me. Then, guess what? Yeah.

When I realize that I need to put more effort into my Google+ Account and try to gain new followers and friends:

When I have worked so hard on trying to attract a sizable audience for my blog and every single day I see that I’m no closer than I was before:

How I look when I ask people to subscribe:

When I hear that Pinterest should be just as important as the rest of social media and I realize I haven’t done shit on there:

    Oh those were so great — love the cat one and the Grey’s Anatomy one – I remember that scene and it so does apply to social media…most days I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing.

    I dunno what I’m doing on any social media platform. It’s not like you can stick a seed in the ground, sprinkle it with water and watch it grow. Oh no! It’s harder than that! You gotta stroke egos, promise a life long commitment to follow back until they realize there are younger, prettier blogs to follow. Then they drop your ass. It sounds more like a bad marriage to me.

    FunnyFunnyFunny- your…Funny. Ok, I’ve said it. As for social Media, Holy Mary Mother of Jesus it’s complicated! When I first started my fabulously witty blog I actually HIRED a gal to assist me. She did for one week and then got her own book deal, so naturally I fell off her radar (but she still cashed the check). So sad- like the amount of time we bloggers should put into social media platforms but actually have to sleep so something has to go by the wayside and it’s usually… (can you feel the hamster wheel?)

    That cat GIF that you used for your feelings on Pinterest made me laugh out loud (and I feel the same way).

    Also, the follow back and then unfollow game? So freaking annoying. I can generally tell now who will do it (they follow a tiny fraction of their follower) and I sometimes wonder why I bother following back at all. Thank goodness for friendorfollow, am I right?
